Aluminum NPT Bung - Flanged & Coped

Our Alucon Aluminum NPT weld bung is precision CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum. It features an extended flanged shoulder design to minimize thread distortion during welding and a larger surface area that enhances the strength of the weld. The coped base is pre-contoured to sit flush on round tubing, making fit-up faster and improving weld consistency.

Why flanged and coped?
The flange improves weld quality and durability, especially on pressurized or high-vibration applications. The coped design ensures better fitment on tube surfaces, minimizing gaps and the need for extra filler — which means cleaner welds and less rework.

Thread Style:

NPT (National Pipe Thread) fittings use tapered threads to create a mechanical seal as they tighten. Common in low- to medium-pressure systems, they offer a simple and reliable connection when used with thread sealant.
